When it comes to space sims and other games there is nothing better than exploring the limits of a game then going back to the game and seeing how far you can stretch those limits with cheating. Not everyone likes to cheat in a game and as previously I have been subject to this with Fish Tycoon, offering people a way to start with a massive amount of money before playing.
I did my
research first before creating this tool and just so people are aware there is
another cheat about getting funds and fuel but that requires using the Cheat Engine Application and making changes on the main exe file.
The game itself when you first start I found tricky, I was running out of fuel so quickly I had no idea what I was doing. So I wanted to spread my wings and do my research and look for a trainer. I can see why after looking at the code from the game why others found is a challenge and to the point not even bothering using there skills to create a trainer since the code from the game is very complex and very well written, your secrets are safe with me.
The editor itself is very basic and don’t expect the world at your feet, I know what I wanted when it came to the game and I wanted a way to make quick cash and lots of it, I wanted lots of weapons and if someone shot me with there lasers I wanted to make sure it was barely a little bit of dust touching my outer hull. Having worked with many programs previously and added them to the internet, if I am accepted to release this, it will be placed on Source Forge, I will be the main programmer and will gladly take requests from others who may be interested in further development including an editor for the star system (beta)
The editor itself is only basic and serves a purpose for my needs, I may release this to the public, but before I do this, I want to contact the author of the game and ask for there permission first. It has taken me some time to work this out and even though I can add money and fuel and items with ease and quantity with items, I cheat myself to explore my limits and see where it takes me.
Multiplayer
In the event that my tool ever was released I added a function in the editor that will also make a change to the exe file, to prevent users from cheating online. If you try to replace the exe with a version you backed up the save game file will not load and be corrupted. This option is in place to prevent the people from cheating online which is massive. Which I am against.
I will add more info about this once I contact the author, if the author doesn’t want this released then I will keep it to myself, but for the time being enjoy what’s on the horizon.
Other Cheat Method using Cheat Engine
- Step 1 Start the game, Create profile, enter call sign and select starting role, i named mine test, and as role i used mercenary. Go to pilot manager, click the profile we made named test. Check on top left the cash we get with that profile, which is cash 40.000.
- Step 2 Use Cheat Engine to do a search for 40000, when we search for 40000, will show 19 addresses, so we need to make sure which address is the right one
- Step 3 Go back in the game, create new profile, name it test, and role miner/trade, Click pilot manager again and click profile test. Check on top left, the cash we get with that profile, which is cash 10.000. Go back into cheat engine, and do a next search for 10000,( which is the first address of the 19 we already found.) Now that we know the location of that cash in cheat engine, double click the top address, in my case it was 00cb25fa, and it will be placed a bit down in cheat engine window, where we will use it a bit later on.Leave everything as it is, don’t click on things like freeze, or change cash right yet!!
- Step 4 Go back into the game choose test profile and load pilot. when in game window it self, press F3, which will show your inventory console. Notice we have 10.000 cash, press escape key, choose profile and save option, and then return to game option.
- Step 5 Go back into cheat engine,(alt+tab out the game itself!.) In cheat engine under the line that shows frozen , description, address, type, value. Click
1 time on that line which shows in my case a white square, no description, 00cb25fa, 4 bytes, 10000. so it shows blue colour marked. Click on that white square , it will show a checkmark in it ,on the left of that, click on the = till it shows a +. Double click in that blue colour line, on the 10000 value. Change this value to 999999999.( you will notice on top left the first address shows a 0 value now ) Don’t touch anything else in cheat engine, go back in to the game, you will see on top right of the screen ( still in inventory screen) our cash is fluctuating between 0 and 999999999
IMPORTANT. Press escape key, click on select profile and save option, and save progress into a new save slot.
DON’T go back into game but instead exit game, exit without saving, and we are
back in the main menu of the game.
- Alt+tab back to cheat engine and close it. Alt+tab back into the game. Press Launch, press F3 key, in inventory window check our Cash, which is now 1.000.000.000. turn a bit around with your spaceship till you see the Evochron station, and dock into it. When docked just buy a simple item, and sell it again and you will see our cash will now stay on 999.xxx.xxx.xxx, and when you sell same item again it will be again 1.000.000.000.
